The 34th Meeting of the ASEAN Directors-General of Customs was officially inaugurated on 3rd June 2025, hosted by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance and Economy in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Mulia Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal).

Temporary Closure of Petrol Stations for the Inspection and Verification of Fuel Dispensing Pumps for the Month of June 2025

Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will carry out the verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps at various fuel stations in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151. Whereby, the stipulated guidelines under the Act require all weighing and measuring machines used for trading purposes to be checked for their accuracy and validity, and whether the machines have already been registered with the SDT Unit.

The Twenty-Fifth ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting (25th AECC)

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II attended the 25th ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting (25th AECC) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 25th May 2025. The 25th AECC was chaired by His Excellency Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Malaysia and attended by AECC Ministers from ten (10) ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste.

Trade Performance Increased in March 2025
26 May 2025 The total trade for March 2025 grew by 12.3 per cent to BND2,015.0 million, compared to February 2025. This was primarily driven by the rise in exports by 11.1 per cent, valued at BND1,255.0 million as well as the growth in imports by 14.4 per cent, amounting to BND760.0 million.

26th World Customs Organisation Asia/Pacific Regional Heads of Customs Administrations (RHCA) Conference

The 26th World Customs Organization (WCO) Asia/Pacific Regional Heads of Customs Administration (A/P RHCA) meeting was hosted in Hong Kong, China on 18 until 22 May 2025. Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Azizil Hakim bin Haji Brahim, Acting Controller of Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) along with several senior customs officers attended the meeting which was chaired by Mr. Chan Tsz-tat, Commissioner of Hong Kong Customs as the WCO Vice Chair for the A/P region.
