The Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), Ministry of Finance and Economy, would like to inform that an article that has been published by See Hua Daily News on 3rd. October 2024 claiming that there has been a detention of bringing in cooked and ready-to-eat food at Sungai Tujoh checkpoints, and the individuals involved have been fined between B$200 to B$300 is false.

​The 21th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) was held from 24th to 28th September 2024 at Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre (NICEC), Nanning, People’s Republic of China. It was officiated by His Excellency Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. Brunei Darussalam delegation was headed by Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Economy, Trade and Industry), Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE).

Consumer Price Index Decreased By 0.5 Per Cent In August 2024

​In August 2024, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) registered a decrease of 0.5 per cent compared to August 2023. This was driven by a 0.6 per cent decrease in the Non-Food index, while the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index recorded an increase of 0.1 per cent.

Brunei Darussalam's Economy Grew 6.0 Per Cent In Second Quarter 2024

Brunei Darussalam’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), at constant prices, grew at 6.0 per cent in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024. This growth was driven by a 7.7 per cent increase in the Oil and Gas Sector and a 4.5 per cent increase in the Non-Oil and Gas Sector.

Temporary Closure of Petrol Stations For The Inspection And Verification Of Fuel Dispensing Pumps For The Month Of October 2024

Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will carry out the verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps at various fuel stations in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151.

Total Trade Grew by 2.7 Per Cent

The total trade for July 2024 grew by 2.7 per cent to BND1,969.1 million, compared to July 2023. This was contributed by exports valued at BND1,174.9 million and imports valued at BND794.2 million.
