Kementerian Kewangan dan Ekonomi serta Jabatan-Jabatan di dalamnya telah mengadakan Majlis Persembahan Dikir Syarafil Anam sempena Sambutan Maulud Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam bagi Tahun 1445 Hijrah pada hari Khamis, 05 Rabiulawal 1445H bersamaan 21 September 2023M bertempat di Masjid Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

CCBD Continues to Raise Awareness on Competition Act

The Competition Commission Brunei Darussalam (CCBD) through its Executive Secretariat conducted an advocacy session on Competition Act, Chapter 253 to a cement manufacturing company last Tuesday.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) Recorded a Moderate Month-on-Month Increase of 0.2 Per Cent in June 2023

In June 2023, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a moderate month-on-month increase of 0.2 per cent, attributed to a 0.3 per cent increase in Non-Food prices. Meanwhile, the prices of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages registered a marginal decrease of 0.02 per cent.

The Twenty-Third ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting (23rd AECC)

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II attended the 23rd ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting (23rd AECC) on the 3rd September 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs of Indonesia and attended by AECC Ministers from the ten (10) ASEAN Member States and Timor Leste as observer. Also in attendance was His Excellency Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary General of ASEAN.

Report of Summary Findings of the Annual Census of Enterprises (ACE) 2023

The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPD), Ministry of Finance and Economy has conducted the Annual Census of Enterprises (ACE) 2023 starting January 2023. ACE 2023 collected latest information pertaining to the growth, contribution, composition and distribution of the economic activities undertaken by the business enterprises in the private sector.

Temporary Closure of Petrol Stations for the Inspection And Verification of Fuel Dispensing Pumps for the Month of September 2023

Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will carry out the verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps at various fuel stations in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151. Whereby, the stipulated guidelines under the Act require all weighing and measuring machines used for trading purposes to be checked for their accuracy and validity, and whether the machines have already been registered with the SDT Unit.

Total Trade in May 2023 Recorded at BND1.7 Billion

04 September 2023

Total trade in May 2023 was valued at BND1,745.8 million, a decrease of 41.2 per cent, from BND2,966.9 million in May 2022. This was due to a decrease in exports value by 42.3 per cent from BND1,869.3 million to BND1,078.5 million. Imports value also recorded a decrease of 39.2 per cent, from BND1,097.6 million to BND667.3 million.
