​Who can be an Insolvency Practitioner?


Under section 217(1), Insolvency Order, 2016, an Insolvency Practitioner is a person acts as an insolvency practitioner in relation to a company by acting - 

(a) as its liquidator, provisional liquidator, judicial manager or receiver; or 

(b) where a voluntary arrangement in relation to the company is proposed or approved, as nominee or supervisor. 

In relation to a voluntary arrangement proposed under Company Voluntary Arrangement, an Insolvency Practitioner is a person acts as nominee if he performs any of the functions conferred on nominees under that Part.
