The Ministry of Finance and Economy held a Doa Selamat ceremony for its prospective Hajj pilgrims on Monday, 14 Zulkaedah 1446 Hijrah, corresponding to 12 May 2025, at the Theatre Hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economy Building, Commonwealth Drive, Jalan Kebangsaan, Brunei Darussalam.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the event was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II. Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy); Yang Mulia Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy); Acting Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and its departments, including officers and staff of the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a special religious talk entitled “Lambaian Haji” delivered by Yang Mulia Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin, Mosque Affairs Officer from Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah. The event also featured the presentation of contributions to ten (10) prospective Hajj pilgrims, all of whom are officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance and Economy. The contributions were presented by the Guest of Honour.
This religious gathering is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy to celebrate its officers and staff undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage for the year, while also fostering closer ties among personnel within the Ministry and its departments. This year’s ceremony was organized by the Budget Division, Budget and National Development Planning Office, Ministry of Finance and Economy.
