The Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), Ministry of Finance and
Economy, would like to inform that an article that has been published by See Hua
Daily News on 3rd. October 2024 claiming that there has been a detention of
bringing in cooked and ready-to-eat food at Sungai Tujoh checkpoints, and the
individuals involved have been fined between B$200 to B$300 is false.
The public is kindly reminded not to spread the false news. RCED would also like
to remind the public that distributing false information is a criminal offence under
Section 34 of the Public Order Act, Chapter 148, that carries a penalty of a fine of
B$3,000 and three years' imprisonment.
