​THE Ministry of Finance and Economy held a Korban ceremony in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the ministry's Theatre Hall yesterday.

Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour.

Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, permanent secretaries, heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff at the Ministry of Finance and Economy and departments under it were also present.

The sacrificial meat from nine cows and two goats were handed out to 65 recipients.

The guest of honour also distributed the sacrificial meat among 90 recipients comprising the poor.

This year's event, organised by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, is an annual religious activity held by the Ministry of Finance and Economy and departments under it.
