Business Participation to Jualan Aneka Brunei 2019 Now Open

The Department of Competition and Consumer Affairs of the Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE), Ministry of Finance and Economy is calling upon businesses in the Sultanate to participate in Jualan Aneka Brunei 2019, which will run a week before Ramadhan for 56 days, from 29 April to 23 June 2019. Business across sectors are encouraged to participate in this national sales event by notifying JPKE starting today.

This annual national sales event aims to stimulate domestic consumption in order to boost local business performance, which is an important contributor towards a more vibrant economic environment for a sustainable economic growth in the country.

To encourage even more retailers from different categories to be on board during this year’s Jualan Aneka Brunei 2019 sales event, JPKE has removed the minimum requirement to participate. Retailers will therefore be given the flexibility to offer attractive discount percentage on the goods in store to be on sale.

Participating businesses are encouraged to take this opportunity to offer attractive and creative deals to draw more shopper traffic and to build customer loyalty. Participating stores will be featured in the PenggunaBijak mobile app to gain more publicity.

JPKE would also like to take this opportunity to remind the participants of Jualan Aneka Brunei 2019 to conduct business and sales activities in an ethical manner in compliance with the Consumer Protection (Fair Trade) Order 2011, in maintaining consumer confidence and building business credibility. Goods offered on sale in stores must be clearly price-tagged in line with the Display of Prices Regulations, which ensures price transparency to enable consumers to make informed purchase decisions.

JPKE encourages businesses to play a part in promoting Brunei Darussalam as an enticing shopping destination by offering a wide range of goods and services at competitive prices. To participate, the process has been streamlined by submitting a notification form to the Department of Competition and Consumer Affairs together with their price list. The notification form can be downloaded from JPKE’s website at www.depd.gov.bn/cad, and submission can be done by email to sales@jpke.gov.bn or walk in to:
Department of Competition and Consumer Affairs

Any business inquiries related to sales activities, can be directed to JPKE through the PenggunaBijak mobile app, email (sales@jpke.gov.bn) or by phone (2230223 during office hours).
