First Meeting of The ASEAN Senior Economic Officials For The Fifty Second ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting (SEOM 1/52)

​The First Meeting of The ASEAN Senior Economic Officials For The Fifty Second ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting (SEOM 1/52) officially began today, 25th January 2021, via video conferencing.  The Meeting was chaired by Yang Mulia Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Economy) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Brunei Darussalam.

Attending the Meeting virtually were Senior Economic Officials from the ten ASEAN Member States (AMS) and representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The 3-day meeting will be in session until Wednesday, 27 January 2021. Among the main agenda to be discussed in the meeting are Brunei Darussalam’s ten (10) proposed Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs), the 2021 Annual Priorities and review progress reports of sectoral bodies under the SEOM’s purview.  The meeting will also discuss and consider the way forward for further enhancing ASEAN’s external trade relations.
