Voluntary National Review NBD Report 2020

Brunei Darussalam participated in the Voluntary National Review session during the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development via online on Wednesday, 15 July 2020.

The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, which is held annually, is the main platform of the United Nations to review the implementation of the United Nations member states for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II delivered a statement for Brunei Darussalam, which among others emphasised the country’s commitment, and outlined its achievements so far, in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The preparation for the Voluntary National Review was led by the Special Committee for the Preparation of the Voluntary National Review for Brunei Darussalam, which was co-chaired by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II. The preparation of the Voluntary National Review NBD Report utilised a whole of nation approach, which also involved the private sector and non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
