The 36th Meeting of the ASEAN Single Window Steering Committee (ASWSC) was officially inaugurated on 21st April 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The Meeting is hosted by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance and Economy, and was officiated by Yang Mulia Haji Mohammad Mu’inuddin Chin bin Abdur Rahman, Deputy Controller of Customs.

In his welcoming remarks, he underscored the importance of continued cooperation among ASEAN customs administrations in navigating evolving geopolitical and economic challenges. He emphasized the need to facilitate trade, promote fair and inclusive trade practices, strengthen supply chain resilience, and uphold a transparent and rules-based trading environment. He further highlighted the role of digitalization and technological advancements in enhancing customs operations and regional connectivity.

The meeting aims to advance the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) through its next phase under ASW 2.0, strengthening engagement with Dialogue Partners on Single Window cooperation, and taking forward the Workplan to support Timor-Leste’s participation in the ASW.

Chaired by Ms. Angie Teo, Assistant Director-General of Singapore Customs, the Meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, with participation from 11 ASEAN Member States, ASEAN External Partners and the ASEAN Secretariat. The Meeting was held from 21 to 23 April 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
