A recent joint operation conducted by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) through the Department of Consumer Affairs, together with the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division under the Ministry of Finance and Economy, recorded one business premise in Kampung Penanjong in the Tutong District that failed to comply with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142.

Following the monthly joint operation, JPES has issued one (1) Warning Notice to one business premise for selling cooking oil above the prescribed maximum prices.

Meanwhile, SDT Unit officers found five (5) units of weighing scale, one (1) unit of liquid measurement and two (2) units of linear measurement are verified, accurate, and registered in accordance to Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151 and Weights and Measures (Verification) Regulations 1994 Chapter 3 (1) and (2).

Through this monthly joint operation, JPES and the SDT Unit are committed to ensuring that businesses maintain ethical business practices and uphold consumer interests by adhering to the Price Control Act, Chapter 142, and the Weights and Measures Act, Chapter 151.
