Piper Aircraft, Inc. and Alpha Aviation Group (AAG) have signed a contract for the acquisition of six (6) Piper training aircraft, with delivery scheduled within this year. The contract was signed by Major General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, the Business Development Adviser of Piper Aircraft Asia Sdn Bhd, on behalf of Piper Aircraft, Inc., and Colonel (Retired) Teng Keng Peh, the Business Development Director of AAG and, on behalf of AAG. The order represents a significant acquisition of Piper training aircraft in Southeast Asia and marks the first phase of AAG’s long-term plan to acquire up to 100 aircraft over the coming years. The contract reflects AAG’s commitment to expanding aviation training capacity in response to growing global demand for qualified pilots.
The signing ceremony, witnessed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Coordinating Minister of Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister of Finance II, underscores the initiative’s importance to regional aviation development and its alignment with national ambitions to build a resilient, future-ready workforce.
Piper Aircraft, Inc., wholly owned by the Strategic Development Capital Fund under the Investment Division of Brunei Darussalam’s Ministry of Finance, is an aircraft manufacturer based in Vero Beach, Florida. With a legacy spanning nearly nine decades, Piper is recognized globally for producing reliable and high-performance aircraft, including the Archer and Seminole training aircraft, which are widely used by flight schools and professional pilot programmes worldwide.
AAG, headquartered in the United Kingdom, is an international pilot training organization with operations in the Philippines, India, and Indonesia. Through modern training methodologies, advanced instructional systems, and industry-aligned curricula, AAG supports the development of sustainable pilot pipelines to meet the evolving needs of the commercial aviation sector.
The partnership between Piper and AAG brings together complementary strengths in aircraft manufacturing and professional pilot development.
