The Revenue Division, Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Brunei Darussalam Institute of Certified Public Accountants (BICPA) have organised the opening ceremony for the Accounting Forum and Exhibition which will take place for two (2) days on Tuesday, 12th May 2026 and Wednesday, 13th May 2026. This event has been held at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Building with the theme “Redefining the Profession: Shaping the Future of Accounting in Brunei Darussalam”.
The event aims to promote the accounting profession, provide a platform for experts and members who are directly and indirectly involved to share knowledge and exchange views and experiences on issues and latest development relating to accounting and facilitates networking among the stakeholders.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II who delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of the accounting profession in ensuring financial integrity, transparency, accountability and sustainable business growth to support one of the goals of National Vision 2035 to achieve dynamic dan sustainable economic development.
Accountants were also urged to leverage data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help business owners in making decisions, mitigating risk and focusing more on forecasting and strategy, in today’s fast changing world.
The event also featured various local speakers and speakers from overseas who were directly and indirectly involved in the accounting industry to discuss topics in line with the theme as well as several information exhibitions from Government Agencies and Private Sectors such as BICPA, accounting firms and other parties that provide support services for businesses in this country.
A total of about 500 people attended the first day of the event including business owners and companies directors, accounting professionals, students, academicians, graduates, job seekers as well as other related stakeholders.
