The 44th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Customs (CCC) was officially inaugurated on 5th May 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The Meeting is hosted by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance and Economy, and was officiated by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Azizil Hakim bin Haji Brahim, Acting Controller of Royal Customs and Excise.
In his remarks, he highlighted the pivotal role of the CCC in advancing regional economic integration, facilitating trade, and ensuring effective implementation of ASEAN customs initiatives. He underscored the importance of enhancing connectivity, transparency, and efficiency across borders to reinforce ASEAN’s position as a dynamic and integrated economic region.
He emphasized the need for customs administrations to remain adaptive, forward looking, and resilient in navigating evolving global challenges and uncertainties. Supply chain resilience and transparency were highlighted as critical, alongside the adoption of digitalisation and technological advancements to support seamless regional connectivity.
The Meeting is expected to serve as a valuable platform for constructive dialogue, meaningful exchanges, and impactful outcomes that will further advance ASEAN’s shared objectives. This commitment reflects ASEAN’s collective vision of unity, cooperation, and prosperity under the theme “One Vision, One Identity, One Community.”
Chaired by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Mu’inuddin Chin bin Abdur Rahman, Deputy Controller of Customs, the Meeting is conducted in a hybrid format, with participation from all ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Dialogue Partners and representatives from private sectors. The Meeting is being held from 5th to 7th May 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
