Account Section

Account Section consists of 5 Units:


1. MAIN LEDGER UNIT

Duties and responsibilities of this unit are:
  • Maintaining the Consolidated Fund Accounts and Preparing Government Annual Account

  • Monitoring Government expenditure and collections

  • Processing Payments Vouchers under Miscellaneous Services Accounts, Suspense Accounts and Retention Money Accounts

  • Processing Journal Vouchers

  • Processing payments of Subsistence Allowances (ESH)

  • Issuing and distributing expenditure reports to Government Ministries and Departments

  • Safe keeping of important documents, copies of duplicate safe and strong room keys of Government Ministries/departments


2. SUB-LEDGER UNIT

Duties and responsibilities of this Unit are:
  • Checking and recording all repayments of Personal and Miscellaneous Advances, Conveyances and Housing Loans

  • Monitoring and ensuring deduction of loan payment and advances is made every month

  • Recording Deposits and Home Allotment and processing refunds of deposits

  • Verifying outstanding balance (Housing Loan, Conveyance Loans and advances) in granting clearance certificated for the payment of pension and gratuities


3. REVENUE AND HOUSE RENTAL UNIT

Duties and responsibilities of this Unit are:
  • Monitoring collections and deposits and arrears of revenue of Ministries/Departments

  • Processing the settlement of overpayment of revenues

  • Processing housing and furniture rental payment made by government


4. EMBASSY AND COMMISSION ACCOUNTS UNIT

Duties and responsibilities of this Unit are:
  • Checking and approving Payment Vouchers into the TAFIS System of High Commissions, Embassies, Permanent Representatives and General Consuls of Brunei Darussalam abroad

  • Preparing Journal Vouchers relating to expenditures of High Commissions, Embassies, Permanent Representatives and General Consuls of Brunei Darussalam abroad

  • Making claim for repayment (for first time) of expenditure of Personal Advances or Miscellaneous made through High Commissions, Embassies, Permanent Representatives and General Consuls of Brunei Darussalam abroad

  • Preparing Suspense Account

  • Preparing report for monthly expenditures of High Commissions, Embassies, Permanent Representatives and General Consuls of Brunei Darussalam abroad.

5. SKIM BANTUAN PINJAMAN PENDIDIKAN (SBPP) UNIT

Duties and responsibilities of this Unit is:
  • To process scheme that offers a loan (not a scholarship) to students who intended to pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at a local or foreign institution of higher learning set by the government with terms and regulation applied.
